Bummer

Fine. Give the MVP to Ortiz. Does that make you happy?

At least the Red Sox didn't get in either. Aaron tried to tease me about the fact the Yankees let the series get to a Game 5, but failed to mention that his defending champions, who led their division for most of the season only to wind up with the wild card, got themselves swept (and I know exactly what his retort to that will be -- and he's wrong).

At the risk of drawing ridicule from Aaron and Marc, I will throw my support to a National League team and root for Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte of the Houston Astros.

The truth is, as disappointed as I am, eventually I'll remind myself to be pleased the Yankees did as well as they did. There was a point in the season when I was preparing myself for the Yanks to not make the post season for the first time since 1993. But then they won their division anyway, so at least that's something, right? (maybe if I keep telling myself that I'll eventually believe it).

Go ahead and leave a comment...you know you want to...

wow...The Yankees payroll was 120 million more then the Sox and that only gave you two more wins. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

You see, I knew Aaron would play the payroll card. But that’s the difference between Aaron and I (well, one of them). Aaron thinks just like George Steinbrenner.

You heard that right. Aaron and George both think you should be able to buy championships. Every year George pays for the best team possible on paper and then Aaron scoffs when they don’t win.

But if spreading around the wealth is supposed to guarantee success, then how come the Yankees haven’t won a World Series since 2000?

I’ve gone on record saying that I think the Yankees too often sacrifice developing young talent for snatching up whatever big name stars they can get. I’ve made this comment to Aaron before.

Big payrolls don’t mean squat. Ask the Chicago White Sox.

But Aaron and George don’t get that.

Personally, I just think Aaron’s jealous… ;-)

Oh...I get it...History dosen't mean squat, but you seam to think the Sox wont win again until 2090. By the way, I know you have said that Ortiz should get the MVP, but here are final stats for A-Rod. According to USA Today Ian O'Connor, "A-Rod went hitless to finish the series 2-for-15. The superstar who managed 48 homers and 130 RBI in the regular season didn't launch a single homer or drive in a single run in these five games. In his last nine playoff games, Rodriguez has gone 4-for-32. He said goodbye Monday night on a fatal double-play groundout in the ninth."

Mr. MVP comes through again..

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure what was worse...getting decisively swept by the far-superior White Sox or losing the do-or-die game by a spactacular crash in center field. Sucks for both teams big time....neither the Empire or the Nation have reason to laugh at each other. Call it even and look forward to Spring Training.

At least this October I will get some sleep. Little consolation, I know but hey...gotta find the silver lining somewhere.

Can't everyone just get along? Jeesh!

This is how we get along. Take jabs...Receive Jabs...laugh...have a beer!!! It's a good thing we don't take this seriously.

Aaron, are you buying?

How did I come up in this! I wasn't the one poking at you for picking a National league team before.

Also I would like to point at that the three most expensive teams are not in the playoffs (I think the Mets still are number 3). Go Pedro!

I'm there for beer if Aaron is buying.

Hey Kris, we all get along, it's just baseball that makes us all regress to little children. :)
