A new look at the new 'Who'

Ordinarily I might agree with you, but "Doctor Who" is an exception. This new series is not a reinvention, but a continuation of the original series that was canceled in 1989.

Thanks to the clever plot device that says the Doctor is an alien capable of "regenerating" his body, the same character has been played now by nine different actors since the show first appeared in 1963.

American audiences are most familiar with Tom Baker in the role (the fourth Doctor), although my favorite is Sylvester McCoy (the seventh Doctor).
