From a USUAL SUSPECT to Lex Luthor Kevin Spacey confirms he's considering an offer to play Lex Luthor in Bryan SInger's "Superman" movie. Singer directed Spacey in the actor's Oscar winning performance in "The Usual Suspects."
I would be equally upset about "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" were it the hands of anyone other than Tim Burton and Johnny Depp. Burton is a genius who has never made a movie I didn't enjoy (except "Planet of the Apes.")
And he and Depp have always done great things together. My solution to fix the "Batman" franchise was always to get Burton back and cast Depp as Bruce Wayne.
Meanwhile, Singer's "Superman" sounds like it has promise. It's going to be faithful (somewhat) to the first two movies. It will essentially be a sequel to Superman I & II and will disregard III & IV. Although, presumably, it will appear to take place in present day, the story is supposed to be set about six years after "Superman II." Superman has been "away" for sometime and has now returned. That's all Singer has revealed of the story.
